URGENT! Your Life Has a Purpose: Do Not Give Up

I can remember a time in my life where I felt like my life did not matter. I would often look for a reason to hold on. Depression was my closest friend. I often felt as if life had dealt me a bad hand.

There seemed to be no one to talk to who could understand all of my pain, and my disappointment with life. Everything about my life seemed unfair. I had no father, my mother was present, but dealing with her own issues. So many people in my life disappointed me. I no longer trusted anyone.

I would often ask God why. Why so much pain and disappointment. How much did He really felt I could take. I would go through each day doing the best I could. Putting on a smiley face for for everyone else. Taking care of my responsibilities like a good girl should. But, everyday was a struggle to hold on to this life that I was give.

I did not have anyone back then to say to me, your life has a purpose, or you ar special and have so much to offer this world. I was so angry about that. No one was there to listen me, who would allow me to say what I really felt. "I am hurting inside" is what I felt like saying. I wanted to announce to the world that I had a voice and had something to say. But who cared, I used to say to myself.

I now realize that people are just so busy trying to figure out there own life, or feel like they do not want to intrude in other people's life. However, that is no the final answer for you, I am here to say that I am intruding. If you are reading this, great. I want you to know that I care, God cares. You are somebody, you are worth so much more than you can imagine. You have a purpose for your life.

Maybe the pain and disappointment that you are feeling seems to hard to bear at times. Maybe you are tired of simply existing and do not feel significant. However, I encourage you to hold on, one day everything will work out. Ask God to revealto you  His purpose for your life. It's not as hard as you think. Sometimes it's as simple as helping someone who feels the hurt you feel, who can better understand where they are coming from.

Fight back, declare to make your life count for something.  Pick up the pieces, dare to dream of a brighter future. Do something for yourself, like taking college courses, start working out, find a job, Join a church and become a part of a community. Volunteer with a program that supports others who are experiencing some of the things you are going through. Just don't give up. You matter, how you feel matters, what you have to say matters.

Feel free to speak up. Share your thoughts, your comments, or whatever you feel on this post.

Success in Everyday Life

Today I had a wonderful epiphany, I was driving on the highway, headed to a meeting. I felt the presence of God so strongly. I could hear this inner voice saying to me you are in purpose.

I began to sing along with the inspirational music playing in the background. Again I could hear this voice saying everyday that you are in purpose you are succeeding in life.

I began to ponder what I was hearing, when again I heard this voice say, empowering others to succeed in everyday life. That's when I got it. I suddenly realized that I was exactly were I was suppose to be in life. I had spent so much time trying to achieve my dreams that I lost my vision. My purpose in life is to be led by the spirit and live a joyful, successful, and generous life and empower others to do the same.

Once I got to my meeting the receptionist there decided to keep me company as I waited on the person I was there to see. She began telling me different things about her life. We started discussing bedside manners and health care workers. She mentioned that I appeared to have those qualities. Without thinking I said, "Yea, that's one of my strongest strengths". That was major to me because I have always wondered and prayed about what my greatest strengths were.

My one-on-one encounters with people, encouraging them in faith, having compassion, and listening to their concerned are so second nature that I did not see it as anything significant. It's what I do, it's who I am. That's purpose. That's the meaning in my life. That's what gives me the greatest joy.

Being such a dreamer has almost caused me to lose my vision. At the same token, having my vision restored has clarified the dream. I am living my dream. I am enjoying the sweet aroma of everyday success in life.

My advise to you today. Take time to listen to the sound of the music, sing along with the tunes. Pay attention to the words others speak to you today. "Sufficient is today for every desire of your heart".

Get Inspired

Sometimes a getaway is exactly what you need to get your creative juices going and implement a task or two. My husband recommended that I take a drive home to visit my family for Mother's Day weekend. I know he suggested it because I had gotten into a funk around the house. I was mopey, discouraged, and not so positive.

I got a hotel room. Early this morning I was up with a cup of Starbucks coffee. I opened my lap top and started writing. I was so motivated to write. Things were really coming together. I got more done in this three hours than I have in the past two months. I read a blog a few months ago recommending ways to get in the mood for writing. Getting away from your home was a suggestion. I think I will incorporate this into my routine more often.

Get yourself inspired, get out of the house. Change your routine. Listen to the advice of others. Most important don't wast valuable time mopping around the house when things are not going as expected. Do something different, do something to change your environment. It really helped me. Hoping it will help you also.

Keys to a Wealth Mentality

Everywhere I turn, there is someone talking about how bad our economy is. From some peoples standpoint it is true. But, depending on your mind set, this could be a false statement.

I refuse to look at what is going on in our world today as totally bad. I see every situation as a opportunity for growth, development, a new chance do something different.

I guess growing up with little wealth has it's advantages. I am used to the struggles in life. I know what it is like to live with lack. I know what it is like to scrape by on the few dimes and nickles that I happen to find under the cushions or from recycled coke bottles.

Before the economy took a nose dive, I had already experienced a downfall in my life. I was struggling financially, with my health, I lost my job, my car was hours from being repossessed, and my mortgage was long overdo.

By the time the economy took a turn for the worst, I had already started making readjustments to overcome my streak of so called "bad luck". Little did I know that my demise was a blessing in disguise. I made a decision to surrender my life to God and put my trust in Him totally as I attempted to put my life back in order and develop a wealth mentality in the middle of dealing with the struggles in my own life.

Here are a few key factors that helped me to develop a wealth mentality:

  1. Have a positive mind set- A person with a positive outlook on the future anticipates joy, happiness, health, wealth, and success in every aspect of their life. The spirit of God lives in us and strengthens us to endure all and succeed in all that we set out to accomplish.
  2. Change your attitude about wealth-  If you are to succeed in life and work, you need to be mindful of the thought and beliefs you have about yourself and your ability to succeed.  Do not spend your time getting caught up in what everyone else is saying.
  3. Make a commitment to reach your goals- You may desire to obtain wealth, but unless you are committed to having the right mind set and reaching your goals, you simply have a dream without commitment to reach it.
  4. Focus on your goals- having a wealth mentality requires focus. Whatever you desire to manifest into your live requires your attention on a daily basis. think about that special someone, who when you first met and desired to have as a permanent part of your life. Did you think about them on occasion, or once a month. NO, you focused on them every moment you could and then some.
You cannot will another person into your life by focusing on
them, nor can you will wealth into your life simply by focus. But
focus gives you a specific direction to devote your time and
         effort.
    5. Have a written plan or strategy to meet your goals-  You can
decide to save $50 dollars a month, but you need a plan for
doing it . Like, having $25 deducted each pay period from your
paycheck. You can have weight loss goal, but you need to take it
a step farther by walking 30 minutes five days per week and
stop eating after 7:30 each night. You may desire to start your
own business, take it to the next level and work with a life coach
to help you turn your dream into your reality.
     6. Find a mentor- get support from other wealth conscious people

Is Fear Holding You Back?

Are you living your life to the greatest possible intent? Are you pursuing God's plan for your life in such a way that you know that you will succeed? Are you taking risk and putting yourself out there knowing that with God all things truly are possible.

Maybe you are procrastinating, afraid to move forward because you fear failure, fear what others may say. Or perhaps you fear that God will not do what He said He would do for you.

These are the very thoughts that I find myself pondering over these past few weeks. Will God really do what I heard Him speak into my life. Is He setting me up to go through more challenges and trials. Am I willing to risk all that He has invested in my life. Am I willing to sink all of my resources, my money, my time, and my name, to step out in faith? Hmmm.

Some people may say, or course I will put my faith in God and trust His  plan. So do I, almost all the time. I tell others to trust God, He will never let you down. However, sometimes God will put us to a test that is easier said than done. He will entrust to us His resources and come back to see how we fared.

In the book of Mathew,  the master gave talents to His servants, entrusting them to their care. One day He came back to see if they were being responsible for putting His talents to use. What is discovered in that teaching, is that the two servants who knew their master, how He worked, what He expected of them, where able to continue to be productive even while He was not there to tell them what to do. The third servant felt His master was a harsh wicked man for prospering beyond what He sowed.

So, I have to really examine my thoughts and action. Do I really trust God, and His plan for my life. Am I willing to put everything on the line, knowing full well how He works. He is not some harsh wicked God who will set me up to fail. Sure He reaps where He does not sow. But He does it to show me what to expect.

If I am faithful and willing to work with what God has entrusted to me, take calculated risk, His desire is to give me more, not take away my investments.  As I write these words, the Spirit of God is confirming my thoughts. My God is a faithful and just master. His desires to share the joy which He has, to share His good fortune.

What about you are you willing to be faithful and trustworthy so that you too can enter into the joy and abundance that God desires to give to His servants. I encourage you to continue in faith, continue in your calling(work, ministry, business). God desires to bless you, He is just and giving. His rewards those who are faithful, and trustworthy to what He has given them.

God Will Show Up In Perculiar Places

Yesterday I heard that familiar, still, quiet voice. It said to me, as I was sitting on the bathroom stall in my home, "Be still and know that I am God". To reasons know to me, it got my attention. For the rest of the day I was able to calm my mind and focus on my number one goal, working the plan of God for my life.

I was surprised that I did not react the way I once would have done. Normally hearing that scripture would have caused me to immediately stopped everything, got on my knees, and pray. However, the revelation I received was to "stop worrying, stop complaining, and do what you are called to do. Know that I am who I say that I am".

Some people would say that thing happen coincidentally. But what happened to me later that evening (I was able to work from morning to night, joyfully), was God doing His thing. As I was doing some research online, I came across a few sripture references for Christian writers, to help them stay focused. Guess what was right there in the middle of them all? Psalm 46:10 "Let be and be still and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations! I will be exalted in the earth"!

God began to show me that I had only been in Charlotte for less than two weeks, and already I had started nagging and worrying Him about the fact that I did not have a job, feeling sad that I had no friends, no place to worship in Charlotte. I was already asking or telling God what I needed. But, this scripture reminded me of  God's word in Jeremiah 29:11, where God say's, " I know the plans that I have for you".

God was showing me that  I was using my mouth the wrong way, asking for a job, when what I really desired was to earn a decent income from my speaking and writing ministry. I was reminded that God told me, He would send me to a place of worship wich He has chosen for me.

So last night I started praying, asking God's forgiveness for not completely trusting His plan, His timing, His guidance. Also acknowledging that He is Lord over my life and able to do all that I desire and more. As He gently reminds me, He is the God that quiets the wind and parts great and mighty seas. Once again God's Word and His sweet Holy Spirit comforts, guides and brings peace to my soul.
